What does a travel advisor actually do?

An advisor is there to take all the burden of planning and researching off of you, to bring deep destination, hotel and touring expertise to the planning process, ensure the quality and seamless service of your experience, get you the best available rates and when possible, additional amenities. Our team works hard to have close relationships with management everywhere, so we know our clients are well looked after when they’re traveling.

Do you charge a fee?

The hotels pay agencies a commission after you stay, and because of this, I don’t charge any fee for hotel bookings—they pay, you don’t! I can also provide more extensive itinerary planning and concierge services. Because there’s no commission included there, depending on your needs I will charge a planning fee for the time it takes to pull everything together and ensure I line up the best of what your chosen destination has to offer. Most of my clients use me in both ways—sometimes just an easy hotel booking for a resort vacation or a weekend away, sometimes a more extensive itinerary for a complicated adventure. I’m here for it all!

How far in advance should I start planning?

I recommend reaching out as soon as you start dreaming about your trip—ideally 6 to 12 months ahead for international travel or peak season dates, since the best hotels and experiences book up quickly. That said, I love a good last-minute getaway too, so don’t hesitate to reach out even if your timeline is tight. I’ll always be upfront about what’s realistic to plan for your dates.

What if I don’t know where I want to go yet?

That’s more common than you’d think, and it’s actually one of my favorite parts of the process! We’ll start with a conversation about how you like to travel—your pace, your interests, your must-haves—and I’ll bring you a curated shortlist of destinations and ideas that fit. You don’t need to arrive with a plan, just a sense of what you’re hoping to feel on this trip.

Is there a minimum budget or trip size to work with you?

I work with a range of trip types and budgets, from an intimate long weekend to a multi-week, multi-country journey. What matters most to me is that every detail feels considered and worth it for you, regardless of scale. What happens if something goes wrong while I’m traveling?

This is exactly why having an advisor is worth it. If a flight gets cancelled, a hotel issue comes up, or plans change last-minute, I’m just a message or call away, and I have relationships with hotels and partners on the ground to help resolve things quickly. You’re never navigating a hiccup alone.
